Last night was an annual school event called International Family Fun Night. It sprang up on us staff as we returned to work this week, so we were a bit frazzled getting ready for it. ("We", meaning, the elementary teachers because their classrooms were going to be used for the event.) It was one of the few mandatory events for staff to work, but I didn't mind because it was a lot of fun. (And highly delicious!)
To appreciate our diversity, the elementary
classrooms were dedicated to 4 countries/continents. (Netherlands/Europe, Ethiopia/Africa, Brazil/South America, and South Korea/Asia. I'm not sure why North America wasn't represented, though...?)
The kids received "passports" and got them stamped as they traveled through the classrooms. I'll had a short shift of stamping the passports for Ethiopia.
One of the Ethiopian mothers served me coffee...
...along with popcorn and various breads and curries.
Some sweet girls :)
Representing The Netherlands is...Dutch Man!
Check out his wooden shoes!

A pretty flag in The Netherlands room
The South Korea room
The Brazil room
These 2 ladies work in the office and are Brazilian. They were doing some sort of samba.
This little girl and I call each other "princess"!
A mezcla of high school students being silly turkeys!
Their parents are from Detroit AND Fort Wayne, so they wore clothes that said Detroit and U.S.A. :)
